In New York City, temperatures reached 100°F in Central Park on Thursday afternoon, marking the park's first triple-digit day since July 2012, with dangerous heat and humidity expected through Saturday. Officials are urging the public to take protective measures, including limiting time outdoors, ensuring adequate hydration, and utilizing air conditioning or designated cooling centers to prevent heat-related illnesses.
